White minds had also nearly universally occupied just about every branch of that government and, for more than two centuries, had kept sole possession of the leadership of its executive branch (whose parsonage, after all, is called the White House).
But when that streak was broken—and, for the first time, a non-white president accepted the oath of office—white America rapidly began to lose its grip."

I do wonder why would the white majority who voted for Obama would give a guy with only two years in the senate and a Marxist background a chance to be president? Could it be that they didn't want to be called racist for not supporting him? Was it liberal atonement for slavery and segregation aka "white-guilt"?
Or perhaps they allowed themselves to be bamboozled by a charlatan that gives pretty speeches and sells hope like an above average infomercial? White people haven't gone insane, it was a moment of temporary insanity that elected Obama, and after two years of failed policies and massive spending the insanity is gone.
